Founder story

Every salon has one person holding all the memory. We built the backup.

My phone still buzzes the same way it did back then.

A text at 9pm from a stylist two states away: “What formula would you use on grey-resistant, over-processed ends?” A call between clients from someone I trained years ago, holding her phone up to show me a swatch. A message from a colorist I used to manage, asking how I'd handle a color correction gone wrong. I've worked this industry from every seat — hairdresser, colorist, salon manager — and licensed as a Barber and Cosmetologist since 2012, I've been the person other stylists call when they don't trust their own formula. Not because I have some secret. Because I wrote it down. I tested it. I remembered what worked and what didn't, client by client, for years.

That's the job nobody talks about: being the memory for an entire industry that runs on one. Every salon has someone like me — the one other stylists quietly call. And every one of us is doing the same thing: carrying years of formulas, corrections, and client history in our heads, texting it out one favor at a time, because there's never been anywhere else for it to live. Meanwhile the rest of us are losing ten, fifteen minutes at the back bar guessing at a formula, over-mixing color that ends up down the drain, second-guessing a technique we haven't touched in years — all while a client sits in the chair, waiting.

I kept asking myself: what if there were a tool that powerful? Something with the knowledge of a master stylist and a master colorist, built to sit beside every chair — not to replace the professional, but to be the partner none of us ever had. What if you never had to spend that time at the back bar again? What if a formula was right the first time, every time, instead of something you hoped would turn out the way you pictured it? What if you could say yes to a client who wants something new, without the creative block, without wasting product, without the fear of getting it wrong?

I spent those same years on the other side of a very different industry. For five years, I've worked in performance marketing for a fast-growing AI-driven platform — watching an entire profession get rebuilt around data, prediction, and precision. Agents who used to work off memory and gut instinct now had systems that remembered every lead, every pattern, every next move.

I kept thinking about my phone buzzing at 9pm.

Nobody had built that for us — for the professionals actually holding the formula, the foil, the client's trust. So I called my best friend, Lexi. She spends her career architecting AI systems businesses can actually rely on, not just believe in. I told her about the calls. The texts. The years of knowledge that disappear the moment a stylist leaves a chair or a client changes salons. I told her I wanted something that could read a client's hair and history the moment they sat down — so no one has to guess again, and no client can quietly leave out the box dye they used at home.

She understood immediately — she'd spent years solving the same kind of problem for other industries: how do you make expertise reproducible? How do you build something a professional can actually trust?

That conversation became Seraphine OS — the first deterministic AI built for the chair. Not a chatbot, not a pitch deck — a master stylist and colorist living inside every salon, built for the stylist who's tired of being the only one who remembers, for the salon that shouldn't have to depend on one person's memory, and for every client who deserves the same result no matter which chair they sit in.

That's the deterministic AI running your salon.

Co-Founder & CEO

Janna Salvanera has spent over a decade shaping how people feel in the chair. Licensed as a Barber and Cosmetologist since 2012, she built her career leading salons at every scale — from independent shops to global beauty corporations, including leadership roles at Ulta and Sephora. Somewhere along the way, she became a marketer too: five years as a Senior Performance Marketing Strategist at an AI tech company based in Santa Monica, CA, a degree in Marketing from Arizona State University, and an MBA in Marketing from Grand Canyon University. Seraphine OS is where those two worlds finally meet — the chair, and the technology built to protect it.
